The myth and truth about blue light and the blue light glasses. By Dr. Mark Rosenfield. Short article with video link.

Firstly, lets know about the author.

Dr. Mark Rosenfield is the Editor‐in‐Chief of Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics. He is a Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. Professor Rosenfield received both his optometry degree and his Ph.D. from Aston University. He holds a research diplomate in Binocular Vision, Perception and Pediatrics from the American Academy of Optometry, and has published extensively in the areas of digital eye strain, refractive error and binocular vision.

Here is his points of view about blue light and blue light glasses :

1. Devices such as smartphones do emit alot more blue light than reading from paper, for example. But Comparing to the sun, the amount of blue light that we're getting from devices is very minimal.
(In this case, we know the the most blue light sources is the sun itself.)

2. Research has shown that blue light blocking filters do indeed improve sleep quality. (kaching!=))

3. There's no evidence that using any device can cause permanent damage to the eye. The ultra-violet did. (FYI, the ultra-violet is the "blue-er" blue light, which in the group of invisible light, further stage of blue light)

4. Blue light is something that we "need", that what keeps us awake at the day. (that's what might makes us difficult to sleep at night!)

5. The good blue light blocking glasses should have the bright yellowish lenses. (Kaching! Just like our Arrow Gaming Glasses!)

This interview is done by Dr. Mikhail Varshavski a.k.a Dr. Mike, a doctor celebrity on the Wellness Trend with Dr. Mike show.
